We announce with deep regret the passing of Arthur Hale, 80 years son of the late Rev. Edward Everett, the well-known author of“The Man Without a Country.” Arthur Hale lived in this city for many years. Was a prominent member of the Franklin and Junior Chess Clubs. For many years he was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad. Later was president of the Consolidated Coal Company in West Virginia and chairman of the American Hale's Wholesale Dealers Association. Mr. Hale's home was at Octoraro on the Susquehanna River, Maryland. He is survived his wife, Mrs. Camille Connor Hale.
