Chess Expert To Take On All Comers
Arthur Spiller, internationally-known chess expert, will stage a demonstration of mass chess playing Tuesday at Kuntz cafe, 1225 Troy st.
Spiller will play chess against all comers, at the same time, using as many boards as there are players. Up to 40 games may be going on at once.
Spiller's honors include the California Open championship in 1950, and the California State championship in 1951. Last month he won the Cincinnati Open championship. He has played in the famous Hastings British tournament, and has matched wits with almost every ranking player in the United States.
Spiller, an Air Force technical sergeant, is stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force base. He is the champion of the Dayton Chess club, sponsor of the simultaneous match which begins at 8 p. m.
