More sad news for our Enquirer solving band!
H. G. Kent, Chicago, Ill., the only solver contesting in our Solvers' Ladder to successfully achieve three ascents to the top rung of the ladder, has made his final climb. He passed to the Great Beyond, August 17, in his room at Hotel Van Buren, Chicago. Mr. Kent was a first-class chess player and an A No. 1 solver. He was faithful, regular, and accurate with his solutions of The Enquirer problems, ever since this chess column was inaugurated. He has now solved the “Great Problem,” that we who remain behind, must some day solve. Goodbye, friend Kent! May you rest in eternal peace!
We are indebted to Edw. Hanna, Chicago, for the sad news of Mr. Kent's death.
