The director, F. A. Rhoden, explained he had originally invited Roman Bordell, leading Spanish player, to the tournament last November when he was not sure the Russians would attend.
Invitations Canceled
When Bronstein and Tolush later accepted, Rhoden said, he decided to cancel Bordell's invitation, fearing the Russians would back out if they found a subject fo the Spanish regime in the line-up.
The Spanish national sports delegation reacted to Bordell's freeze-out by accusing the Hastings club yesterday of an “unjustifiable and antisporting attitude,' and canceling relations until “satisfaction” has been received.
