State Chess Champ
York, Sept. 8. (AP)—Robert D. Sobel of Philadelphia is the new state chess champ after winning out over 67 entries in the 15th annual state tournament.
Sobel, 19, defeated Attilio DiCamillo, also Philadelphia, and two-time state champ, in the seventh game yesterday to take the title. Third went to Vladimir Bomanov, also Philadelphia.
Donald H. MeClellan, Jeanette, last year's victor, did not defend his title.
