NEW YORKER APPOINTED TO STATE HISTORY POST
Henry Howard Eddy, formerly acting state archivist of the State of New York, has been employed as head of the Division of Archives and Manuscripts of the State Department of Archives and History, it was announced yesterday by Dr. Christopher Crittenden, director.
Eddy, a native of Vermont, holds a master arts degree from Harvard University. He has taught at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He served as state supervisor for Vermont of the WPA Historical Records, Survey, and National later was Archives on in Washington, and the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial Library at Hyde Park.
The Division of Archives and Manuscripts is one of the three operational departments of the Department of Archives and History. The publications division is headed by D. L. Corbitt, and the Public Displays Division is headed by Mrs. Joye E. Jordan.
