Fame for Mrs. Bain
To Mrs. Mary Bain of Astoria, one of the strongest women chess experts in this country, belongs the credit of being the first to emerge as victor in a section of the Jubilee Correspondence Tournament conducted by the American Chess Bulletin. Against six opponents, in section 1, she won five games and lost only one to W. M. P. Mitchell of Brookline, Mass.
Thirty-two sections of seven players each have been formed thus far and others are being organized as additional entries come in.
