Rudolph Spielmann Declared Winner of Chess Tournament.
Semmering, Austria, March 30 (AP)—Rudolf Spielmann, of Vienna, was declared the winner of the international chess masters' tournament today, having won 13 games and lost 4. He drew his last game today with Dr. Alekhine, of France, who took second prize with 12½ games won and 4½ lost.
Dr. Tartakower, of Austria, and Dr. Vidmar, of Jugo-Slavia, each having won 12 and lost 5, divided the third and fourth prizes. Niemzowitsch, of Denmark, 11½ won and 5½ lost, was placed fifth; Rubinstein, Poland, and Dr. Tarrasch, Germany, each 10 won and 7 lost, divided the sixth and seventh prizes. The eighth prize winner was Reti, of Czecho-Slovakia, 9½ won and 7½ lost, and the ninth, Gruenfeld, Austria, 9 won and 8 lost.

Dr. Tartakower beat Gilg, Czechoslovakia; Reti beat Marquis Rosselli, Italy; Kmoch, Austria, beat Dr. Treybal, Czecho-Slovakia; Dr. Vidmar beat Davidson, Holland; Rubinstein defeated Gruenfeld; Janowski, France, beat Michell, England; Niemzowitsch beat Dr. Vajda, Hungary. Dr. Alekhine and Spielmann drew their game, as did Yates, England, and Dr. Tarrasch.
