One Defeat For Master
U.S. Chess Master Robert E. Burger (left), who once defeated international champion Bobby Fischer in a similar situation, Thursday played 20 simultaneous games at College of Alameda and was defeated once—by student Michael Weber. Among opponents, from left, were Dale McKay, Michael Kress and Frank Thornton. At a second evening session, Burger took on 48 challengers, with no losses and three draws.

This ongoing work is a tribute to the life and accomplishments of Robert “Bobby” Fischer who passionately loved and studied chess history. May his life continue to inspire many other future generations of chess enthusiasts and kibitzers, alike.
