From Montreal Gazette:
“Philippe Brunet (Montreal) won the fourth annual provincial championship held here last weekend with 28 competing in six rounds of Swiss system play. His score, 5½-½, was the best posted in any of these events so far. His one draw came in the semi-final round with Dr. Joseph Rauch, who placed second with 5-1, a score usually good enough to win.” (The foregoing refers to the Quebec Provincial Championship for 1950).
