At Charles Lemoyne Hospital in Longueil on Saturday, February 16, 2002 Philippe Brunet passed away peacefully at age eighty-eight. He was predeceased by his first wife Stella Tuppins and his second wife Cecile Harris and by one sister and three brothers. An adored father and grandfather, he leaves behind his four children Suzanne, Charles (Jennifer), Dennis (Stella) and Elise (Ricky) and several grandchildren and many family members and friends. A veteran of World War II, navigator in the RCAF and a member of 429 Squadron, he was made prisoner of war in 1944 until the end of the war. A retired member of the higher public service management since 1978, he was a distinguished chessman and an ex-champion of Quebec. Family members will greet visitors at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Complex (www.urgelbourgie.com) 63 Lorne, St. Lambert, on Monday, February 18 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A very special thank you goes out to all the medical personnel at the Intensive Care Unit of Charles Lemoyne Hospital.
