Chess Class Set To Start Today
An instruction class for adults interested in learning how to play chess is scheduled to start at the YMCA at 7:30 p.m. today. The course will continue each Thursdays for six weeks with each session running from 7:30 to 9:30. If sufficient interest develops, a permanent Chess Club will be organized.
Richard E. Burry, well-known local chess authority and author of a Daily News weekly column devoted to the game, will be the instructor. The class is part of the YMCA's informal education program now under way. Other subjects being taught include beginners' and advanced bridge, crafts for women, conversational Spanish, ballroom dancing and amateur photography.
