Burry, Richard E., 83, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, (January 12, 2005) at home after a lengthy illness. Born in Larchmont, New York, he moved to Spring Hill in 1993 from Fort Lauderdale, where he lived since 1946. He was an Army veteran of World War II, achieving the rank of lieutenant. He founded the Hernando Chess Club. He was a member of the Hernando Sportsmans Club. United Sportsmen and American Rifle Association. Survivors include his wife, Georgette, two sons Richard G., Coral Springs, and Devitt S., San Francisco; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. National Cremation Society, Brooksville.
