Mjr. Blake Routs 8 Chess Players
All of them playing Major Charles Blake, five members of the Ford of Canada chess team, and four members of the Y.M.C.A. team were defeated last night, but the tenth member of the party, Gil Morris of the Ford team, succeeded in bringing Major Blake to a draw.
The Y.M.C.A. tea entertained the Ford of Canada team at the “Y” last night. Major Blake sat in the slot of a U-shaped table, and played all the members of both teams. It took two and a half hours to finish the large scale game.
Dick Mills acted on the reception committee.
