Yanofsky Holds Chess Lead Over Macskasy
Vancouver (CP)—Abe Yanofsky of Winnipeg, Canada's top-rated chess player, Tuesday night increased his lead in a series with Elod Macskasy of Vancouver, winning the fourth round.
Yanofsky has 3½ points in the eight-game series and Macskasky has half a point. The match ends Saturday.
The 60-move game took seven hours Tuesday night. At one point, Yanofsky offered Macskasy a draw but he declined.
