German Tourney Resumed
The last meeting of the German Chess Association, it will be recalled was held at Mannheim during the summer of 1914, when the sudden outbreak of the war cut short the congress. Alechine, of St. Petersburg, was leading at the time, and was hastily declared the winner, but promptly interned along with the other Russians. Subsequently he escaped, but has since disappeared mysteriously. A resumption of the German C. A. meetings is announced and will be held at Berlin, September 27 to October 9. The program will include a masters' tournament.
