A School Tournament.
A tournament of twenty-six entries is being played at the Haverford College Grammar School. It is on the handicap plan and the well known junior player, Mr. S. Leigh Stadelman, is the only one in the A class. By beating Burnham, of the knight and pawn class, Stadelman is at least sure of second prize. The other players in the semi-finals are Wills, Kt class, and Murphy, R class.
The Haverford School has challenged the William Penn Charter School to a team match, best out of three games, and also desires to say that the challenge is extended to any school within reaching distance.
The second correspondence game between Mlotkowski and Stadelman also terminated in favor of Mlotkowski. In their match over the board score is Stadelman, 1; Mlotkowski, 0; drawn, 1. In the Camden tourney Mlotkowski now leads with 12½ to 2½.

While on the subject of blindfold chess we may remark that there is only one player in these diggings that has the faculty in an abnormal degree. Mr. Stasch Mlotkowski, Jr., the youngest member of the Franklin Chess Club, has successfully played five games simultaneously without seeing the boards.
