LASKER AT CHESS.
He Defeats Reichhelm, Who Resigns on the Fiftieth Move.
Emanuel Lasker, the chess player, defeated G. Reichhelm, at the Franklin Chess Club, Eleventh and Sansom streets, last night. Lasker had the white and Reichhelm the black.
The game was a Queen's pawn opening by Lasker. In the early part of the game white started in with a rush, but as the middle approached he had to withdraw his forces with the slightly inferior game. About this time black made some indifferent moves, and white, taking advantage of the time thus lost returned to attack. This time he won a pawn back and this was enough, Reichhelm resigning on the fiftieth move.
Lasker will give a simultaneous performance to-morrow afternoon.
