Now Triumph for Dr Lasker.
The news that Dr. Emanuel Lasker had emerged winner of the recent masters' tournament at Ostrau, Czechoslovakia, was received with much interest in chess circles here. The entry list was a very strong one. Reti was placed second, Gruenfeld third, Selesniew fourth, while Dr. Tarrasch, Dr. Tartakower and Euwe shared fifth, sixth and seventh prizes. Neither Rubinstein nor Bogoljubow was placed. Dr Lasker is said to have been at his best and there is actually a possible return match with Capablanca for the championship, which the former, until his defeat by the Cuban, had held for 27 years. This however hardly chimes with Dr. Lasker's assertion that he was through with the championship.
