Blackburne Leads in the Berlin Congress.
BERLIN, Sept. 16.—Play in the tournament of the German Chess Association was continued this morning, the eleventh round of the Berger system being selected. In the third round, finished last night, Blackburne won from Bardeleben by default, Cohn beat Schiffers, Charousek lost to Schlechter, Marco and Albin drew, Winawer lost to Janowski, Teichmann beat Caro, Tschigorin beat Zinkl, Walbrodt beat Burn, Suechting drew with Englisch, Metger drew with Alapin.
The pairing this morning was: Alapin vs. Caro, Albin vs. Zinkl, Charousek vs. Burn, Schiffers vs. Walbrodt, Blackburn vs. Tschigorin, Englisch vs. Teichmann, Bardeleben vs. Janowski, Cohn vs. Metger, Schlechter vs. Marco, Winawer vs. Suechting.
Janowski won from Bardeleben by default, Blackburne beat the Russian champion, Tschigorin, Burn beat Charousek, Schiffers beat Walbrodt.
Blackburne takes the lead, and as he plays in good form he is now the favorite.
